Quality F.A.C.T.S., LLC consultants have over ten years of extensive working experience as health inspectors from local health departments. Our consultants are California State Registered Environmental Health Specialists, National Registry of Food Safety Professional Certified Food Handler exam administrators, Prometric certified food handler exam administrators, and California State Registered Vector Control Specialists.
The motto at Quality FACTS, LLC is, "Keep it simple and safe." We will effectively assist you in dealing with the food safety challenges you face in a caring and easy-to-follow way.
Meet the Founder

Akiko Tagawa received her B.S. in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University, Northridge and her M.P.H from the Univeristy of California, Los Angeles. She was a health inspector for almost ten years with the Los Angeles County, Environmental Health Division. As a health inspector, Akiko conducted food safety inspections, trained new health inpectors, provided technical assistance to the food industry, responded to media inquiries, and developed policies.
Akiko continues her work as a California State Registered Environmental Health Specialist and provides customized consultation to food facilities and specializes in compliance with retail and wholesale food safety and sanition regulations.
Akiko has extensive academic teaching experiences and is currently employed as a part-time faculty at the Health Science Department of CSU Los Angeles. In the past, she has taught at CSU Pomona and UCLA. Additional, Akiko provides food safety education through writing monthly food safety articles for a national retail food trade journal.
Akiko also promotes partnerships and collaborations. Akiko has partnered with William Kimura from the Pasadena Health Department for the past few years to provide certified food handler courses on a regular basis. Akiko has also collaborated with Sempra Utilities' Energy Resource Center and the Food Industry Business Roundtable to provide periodic food safety training courses. Akiko has also previously collaborated with the FDA to teach state and local inspectors regarding HACCP and Temporary Food Facilities in California, Florida, and Illinois. In addition, Akiko continues training new Los Angeles County health inspectors today in the areas of HACCP, seafood safety, and other food safety related topics.
Akiko continues to be active in various organizations such as the Japanese Restaurant Association, American Society of Training and Development, Food Industry Business Roundtable, and the American Society for Quality's Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Division. Examples of past speaking engagements include: Japanese Restaurant Association seminars, Japanese Restaurant News seminars, Southbay Economics Seminars, Long Beach Health Department seminars, California Environmental Health Association conferences, Nevada Environmental Health Association conferences.
Meet the Partner

John Morihara graduated from the University of Hawaii, with a Bachelors Degree in Economics, he then received his Juris Doctors from the University of Southern California, and a Master's in Business Administration from the Japan America Institute of Management Sciences/ University of Hawaii.
Upon completion of his MBA John spent three years in Japan, studying business and management practices there, with a particular emphasis on quality process management, and international business development.
John has provided management and consultant services to a number of businesses; his clients have included companies: undergoing challenging transitions, seeking to refine their quality processes, redesigning their organizational structure and operations, and needing general guidance in business development. John has also provided management guidance and advisory services to organizations in the areas of facilities development, regulatory compliance, logistics, and personnel staffing (primarily in the areas of immigration and labor compliance).
